I agree with James Dudderidge MP and councillor Ric Morgan – good riddance to Renaissance Southend, a symptom of Labour’s “quangomania”.
With the chief executive earning more than £2,200 a week, plus expenses, the job role was nothing but an easy ride on the quango gravy train.
It is an insult to hardworking, average wage earners struggling to provide the necessities of life.
No wonder funding has been stopped, but unfortunately not soon enough.
Why did Southend Council burden the town with this unnecessary layer of management, when the council has it’s own adequate planning department?
