I was angry to read about proposed £30million new library for Southend.

The council is asking us to give our views on where cuts in public spending can be made. It doesn’t make sense this has been given a seal of approval.

We already have a library and if it has been so successful, why is there a need for this extravagance at this time?

I cannot see any reasonable justification here – £30 million would provide a substantive sum for the health service, which is in financial chaos.
