With reference to planning application by the Lazybones boot sale held at Rettendon.

Residents would be ashamed of the way the parish council representatives conducted themselves on their recent visit.

Owner Peter Theobold has lived in Rettendon for 45 years. The boot sale has been running for 16 years, with planning permission.

Due to its popularity, it has been moved from one field to another and planning permission has been applied for again, which is now being negotiated with Chelmsford Council, not the parish council.

The representatives strutted around the field taking photographs, stating they don’t want the boot sale, full stop!

Let’s not forget not all farmers farm any more.

They are encouraged to diversify, which includes holding boot sales.
