The excellent Dial a Ride service is being suspended at weekends, which is a shame.
As co-ordinator of Different Strokes, a charity for stroke victims, it is their only means to get to and from the exercise class which is held on Saturdays at St Peter’s Church Hall, Westcliff, between 3pm and 4pm.
One of our members cannot afford a taxi, so I am appealing to a kind soul somewhere, willing to volunteer to bring this gentleman to the exercise class and take him home again.
This is the only time he gets out of the house and he is willing to pay petrol costs. I already take three people in my car, so please can anyone help and ring me on 01702 465801?
