Former Labour leader Neil Kinnock, when interviewed on TV, stated: “MPs of today are not from manufacturing or business and have little knowledge of that world. MPs are from universities with little acumen of business”
which seems to cover some of our councillors!
Take for example the Sporting Village at Basildon. The idea is good, but not at the cost of losing our playing fields and play areas to pay for it.
At one meeting at the council offices it was put to them: Had they approached local businesses for donations and sporting companies for sponsorship?
The answer was no.
Please councillors give the residents of Basildon the best new year you could by not selling off playing fields and play areas.
