I had to laugh when I read Southend’s Tory leader saying the problem with Independents is they have “no shared ideological background” (Jan 18).
Surely the very point of an Independent is that they don’t have an ideology.
They vote for their town and constituents and don’t have party whips like the political parties do.
I agree with Independent spokesman Martin Terry that “Conservatives feel threatened”.
It is little wonder they feel threatened if they publish such rubbish on their blogs.
I suggest the threat has just increased.
