I visit Basildon’s Sporting Village at least three times a week and have yet to really enjoy my visit.

I normally book an exercise class, but have yet to experience a full session, as I have spent up to 30 minutes driving round the car park looking for a space.

The overflow car park is normally full as well and this is a nightmare to park in, as it is very uneven.

I am not alone, as there are normally about ten cars driving round looking for spaces. It makes me wonder what will happen when the Japanese Olympic team are training and people want to watch.

Why is the swimming pool never fully open so we can enjoy the whole length of the pool as we used to in Gloucester Park? We are not being allowed to use the pool to its full potential.

Why advertise an “adults only” session and allow children in? On more than one occasion this has happened to me.

Why are the changing rooms unisex? It may be the continental way of doing things, but older visitors do not like it.

Steps built into the side of the pool are awkward for people with mobility problems.

Yet when I saw people asking for the wide steps to be put back they were told they were “broken”.

Disappointing after only six weeks of use.

Aqua exercise classes used to be for a full hour in Gloucester Park, but now they are for between 45-55 minutes. So how can it be said prices are the same when the time has been shortened?

When I raised my concerns, the apathy was disappointing and made me think nothing will be done to rectify the problems.
