THE ball from Zander de Bruyn to James Foster against Surrey on Monday was quite a high toss, and if it was above waist height it should have been called a no-ball by the square-leg umpire.

The umpire was Trevor Jesty, and as Fozzy was walking off some of the lads said he had pointed to his midriff to indicate it was above waist height. And so they said to Fozzy go back and check the umpire did not call a no-ball.

And there was a little bit of miscommunication between Fozzy and the umpires, and it resulted in Fozzy being given out which was a shame because he was in the middle of a useful partnership with Adam Wheater.

It was one of those situations where passions were high, and things were said in the heat of the moment.

Fozzy is that type of character and I like that about him because he shows how much he cares about his position within the club.

He got a bit of a ticking off from the umpires, but there will be no repercussions from the club.

It might be followed up by Lord’s because they have a points system for disciplinary matters, but we are just going to sit tight and see what happens.
