I wrote a few months ago asking why trains were stopping at Southend Airport station, running slow between Prittlewell and Rochford or standing at Rochford.

I asked my question after reading a comment from a National Express East Anglia spokesman that trains were not stopping at Southend Airport due to timetabling issues.

Now I read trains are stopping, running slow or standing at Rochford waiting, due to timetabling.

It may lead fare-paying passengers to think they have not been given the truth on this.

So, I’ll repeat my previous suggestion this is all about revenue and also suggest National Express is taking advantage of the extra time added to journey time to help performance figures.
