Ron Hurrell’s letter (July 7) hopefully only represents a small number of people who think everything on this planet belongs to humans.

He is worried about a few meagre foxes or badgers trying to survive against all the odds, but compare this to the mindless explosion of the human population continually needing to steal ever more diminishing wildlife habitat.

Mr Hurrell says he doesn’t think we are meant to live in close proximity to the animal kingdom. What planet has he come from?

He has the cheek to say what ghastly viruses could be passed on to us from wild animals. What about the destruction of the planet being caused directly by humans? Luckily, not all of us share his views.
