I have lived on Canvey for 36 years. When I first moved to the island I used to see the odd fox. Now the island is running alive with them and something needs to be done to reduce their numbers.
I like to think I am an animal lover and I carry on gardening. Even though foxes dig holes in my lawn and dig up plants in pots and containers, I put up with it.
I have seen foxes attack and kill hedgehogs and now I cannot recall the last time I saw a hedgehog, even though at one time they were very common.
The final straw for me came when our cat, an elderly, lovely pet, was ambushed and killed by two foxes. It was very distressing.
Can Castle Point Council do something to reduce their numbers?
