VANDALS caused £1,150 of damage to a string of cars in Great Wakering.
They first struck in Little Wakering Road where they scratched the bodywork of four cars.
Three Ford Focuses and a Renault Scenic were taregeted between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday September 3.
A further two cars, a Vauxhall Zafira and a VW Passat, were then scratched in New Road, Great Wakering, between 7pm on Saturday night and 10am the following morning.
PC Becky Mansey. of Rochford police, is investigating the spate of damages. She said: “Whilst these offences took place at different times of day, incidents in this area are very unusual and, as they are all similar in nature, they are likely to have been committed by the same person or group.
“Did you see suspicious behaviour in this area at any point on Saturday or overnight into Sunday? If so, please let me know.”
