It is fantastic news our hardworking MP Rebecca Harris has been able to encourage such significant lottery funding for Canvey.
But it is vital the distribution of the £1million award should be spearheaded by non-political figures.
We must stop the often toxic politics of the island, to assure it makes a real difference.
