DRIVERS faced disruption during rush-hour after a lorry set alight.

Firefighters from Grays and Orsett rushed to the Tilbury turn-off on the A1089 Dock Approach Road after the 12-tonne vehicle, carrying white goods, caught fire at 5.40pm today.

A further engine was later sent for because more water was needed to put out the flames.

Police attended the scene to control the traffic and closed the road during rush-hour.

The A13 was also disrupted by the incident as one lane remained blocked before being cleared at around 7.25pm.
