All we hear in the papers or from the council and police is how much the crime level is going up and the main culprits are the teenagers in the town.
What I would like to ask is what they are going to do about resources in the town for them like, five-a-side football pitches, basketball courts, youth centres and places where it does not cost much for them.
Most of the time they commit a crime out of lack of money or something to do because they are bored.
Councillors of Southend get to the end of the financial year and have millions or thousands to “spend” or lose it, so what do they do, spend it on new road layouts, surfaces, seafront and grass areas but nothing for the youth.
If I had the money, I would love to do something for the youth to also help get them into further education and work.
