Two men have been charged with various offences following a number of burglaries, robberies, and thefts in Basildon, Maldon and Runwell.
Jazz West, 26, of no fixed address, has been charged with four counts of robbery, three counts of burglary, one count of theft of a motor vehicle, and one count of theft.
The robbery charges relate to incidents at McColl’s in Whitmore Way, Basildon and Felmores End on June 29, incidents where taxi drivers were robbed in Avon Way, Basildon on October 2 and Fairlop Gardens, Basildon on October 3.
The burglary charges relate to two break-ins in Plains Road, Maldon and one in Brock Hill, Runwell on January 3.
West has links to Basildon and Colchester.
The theft charge relates to an incident at TK Maxx in Miles Gray Road, Basildon on July 27.
Another man, Patrick Burke, 29, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of robbery in connection with the incidents involving taxi drivers in Avon Way and Fairlop Gardens.
Both men are due at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today.
