COMPETITORS in the annual Moonlight Colourthon are being urged to don their brightest clothes and make the night time walk in aid of Diabetes UK.
The annual event, on Saturday, July 5, is a half marathon taking a 13- mile route around Southend.
The walk starts at Chalkwell Park at 8pm and takes in the seafront and Southend Pier.
Teresa Strange, Eastern Regional Fundraiser, said: “It is a bright and vibrant way to raise money.
“Anyone wanting to take part should contact us for information about fundraising. Without events like these we would not be able to support people who have diabetes.”
In the Southend area there are about 21,800 people with diabetes and an estimated 3,500 who have Type 2 diabetes, but don’t know it because they haven’t been diagnosed.
