Firefighters worked through the night to tackle a blaze at a large garage in Corringham.
Crews were called to the building on Lampits Hall, which was being used as a workshop, at 8.30pm last night.
They reported the garage was completely alight and the electricity board was called to isolate power to the building.
By 6am today, crews had put out the fire and were damping down the site.
Acetylene cylinders involved in the blaze are still leaking and are being cooled with a covering jets.
An Essex Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "We have no information relating to the cause at this stage."
