A BUSINESSMAN hopes to open a juice bar on the site of a former toilet block later this month.
Leigh man Michael Fleet bought the old public toilets in West Road, Westcliff, for £90,000 at an auction last Sep- tember.
He has now been given permission by Southend Council to convert it into a cafe and building work has already started.
Mr Fleet, 43, of Lord Roberts Avenue, said: "We're well under way. A patio is going to go at the front.
"The inside is pretty much done, other than decoration. I'd like to think it could be open before the airshow weekend.
"The area needs something like this. It's got pubs, but it hasn't got this type of business yet."
The financial adviser has been using the lower ground floor, where the gents' toilets used to be, as an office, while the cafe will be located upstairs.
