A VICAR'S pancake-tossing skills will be the key attraction at a church fundraiser.

For the eighth consecutive year, Father Robin Eastoe will sell his freshly-made pancakes at the May craft fair and family fun day at St Margaret's Church, in Lime Avenue, Leigh.

All the proceeds will be in aid of church funds.

Mr Eastoe said: "The pancakes are always very popular. It was my idea to do them.

"I made pancakes for my children every Tuesday when they were younger."

The pancakes will be available with different fillings ranging from chilli con carne to chocolate.

Southend's carnival court will open the fair at 10.30am. Entry is £1 and will include a ticket in the prize draw. Accompanied children get in for free.

Stalls will sell items including toys, puzzles, dolls, greeting cards, knitted jumpers, garden ornaments and pickles. Attractions include a bouncy castle, coconut shy, cards and darts, fishing and hoopla. There will also be music and singing in the church. For more information call 01702 471773.
