A DISABLED children's charity is set to boost its funds through a race night on Saturday.
Kidz in Motion, a sports and social club created for children between seven and 16, has been running since January.
Chairman and parent Emma Wright, 32, of Grovelands Way, Grays, said: "After meeting other parents and children at a wheelchair training week, run by disability equipment specialist, Whizz Kidz, it was apparent there was a need for children to meet socially and have fun together regularly."
Emma's 11-year-old son, Jordan, has cerebral palsy and she says he loves the fortnightly sessions.
About a dozen children are regularly attending on Saturday afternoons at Belmont Hall, in Parker Road, Grays, or the church hall in New Road, Grays.
Emma co-founded the group with Lisa Walker, whose son, Ronnie, nine, has muscular dystrophy.
Emma said: "It's great to see these children having so much fun. They play wheelchair rugby, football, cricket, basketball, badminton, and do arts, crafts and other games."
The next session is this Saturday in the church hall, from 1.30pm to 4pm. Parents are asked to make a donation of £3 a session.
Saturday's race night is at Grays Working Men's Club, in London Road, from 7.30pm. Tickets are £5.
