YOUNGSTERS celebrated holding their school sports day in a sunny field for the very first time.
Children at Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Pre-school, in Little Wheatley Chase, Rayleigh, normally hold their sports day in the school hall but this year they were offered the chance to hold their big day in the primary school’s playing fields.
Teresa Cahill, manager at the pre-school, said: “It was all a little bit hectic as it was our first one in Our Lady of Ransom Primary School field. Before we’ve held it in the hall but it didn’t feel right
“It went really well with 48 children taking part. It was lovely and really nice for the children who had their families with them.
“There was a race for parents and grandparents which the children enjoyed very much.”
