A TEENAGER was rushed to hospital yesterday after becoming impaled on the handlebar of his bike.
The 13-year-old boy fell off his bike in Rainbow Road, Canvey at 2pm, hitting a curb with such force the handlebar was pushed into his thigh.
Firefighters, who had to dismantle the bike leaving the handlebar embedded in the shocked youngster's leg, paid tribute to his bravery.
