YOUNGSTERS got to play at being superheroes during a week-long holiday club.
Crowstone Christian Centre, in Westcliff, held its annual summer holiday club, for children aged five to 11.
The children looked at stories of children in the Bible and how they were portrayed as the junior superheroes for God.
More than 40 children attended the club, run by church volunteers.
Activities included puppet shows, bible story telling, drama sketches, singing, games and crafts. Children also helped decorate the church with their superhero pictures.
The week concludes with a special celebration service on Sunday, where members of the church came to see what the children have been doing.
Kirsty Ashworth, the centre's youth and children's worker, said: "This is one of the highlights of our church year - all the staff enjoy putting on an event where the children have so much fun and learn a bit about God."
