BUDDING DJs had the chance to try some mixing and scratching at a free session yesterday.
Children, aged between eight and 14, had a go at using turntables and mixing some hip-hop music at the event in St Mark's Hall, Rochford.
The event was organised by Rochford Extended Schools, which is a group that promotes extra curricular activities for children in the district.
Julie Gooding, from the group, said: "We hold lots of different sessions during the school holidays and always ask parents what else they would like to see.
"That is how we come up with new ideas such as the DJ sessions.
"Everyone really en-joyed it and there were some very talented young people."
There are more sessions taking place through the summer holidays.
