A STUDENT is pulling on his walking shoes to raise money in memory of his mother.
Ryan Gahan, 19, will walk from Basildon to Southend to raise money for Brain Tumour Foundation UK, after his mother Trina died from the condition.
He will set off from outside Asda in the Eastgate centre, where he works, at 10am on Saturday and is hoping to reach Southend Pier by 6pm.
Ryan, of Long Riding, Basildon, said: "My mum passed away four years ago of a long term brain tumour, and I feel this is something I want to do to help that charity."
When not filling the shelves of Asda Ryan is studying drama at De Monfort University in Leicester.
He hopes to raise £5,000 by January.
