ONE of Basildon's biggest exports, Alison Moyet, has just announced a UK tour that will bring her to Westcliff next year.
The sultry singer, famous for hits Is This Love, Invisible and All Cried Out, will be performing at the Cliffs Pavilion on Wednesday, February 6, to publicise her ninth album, the Turn.
Alison was born in Billericay, but grew up in Basildon and shot to fame in the band Yazoo with Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Yazoo's debut record release, Only You.
Branching out on her own, Alison went on to have phenomenal solo success with hits such as That Ole Devil Called Love, Weak in the Presence of Beauty and Love Letters.
Last year, Alison defied the critics when she performed on the West End stage with long-time friend Dawn French in the comedy stage production Smaller, directed by Kathy Burke.
For tickets, which go on sale today, call the Cliffs Pavilion on 01702 351135.
