HE made millions of Channel 4 viewers laugh - now Big Brother winner Brian Belo could land himself the title of TV's funniest reality star.

Basildon boy Brian, who sensationally won Big Brother on Friday night after picking up 60 per cent of the public vote, has been nominated for an award at the Loaded Laftas Comedy Awards, voted for by readers of Loaded magazine.

Brian, 20, of Ampers End, will be up against Peter Andre and Jordan for their Next Chapter show, as well as I'm a Celebrity's David Guest, in the Funniest Reality TV Person category.

The Laftas awards bash will be held in London next month.

Brian's mum, Sue Smith, told the Echo: "Brian will be really chuffed to hear about the award nomination.

"I don't think he knows about it yet.

"It's nice that he's up against Peter Andre, as he has been saying some really lovely things about Brian in the press. I hope Brian takes me up to the ceremony with him."

Ms Smith said the BB experience had changed Brian's life already.

She said: "Brian's been in and out since he got out of the house. I think I've only seen him for five minutes since he won!"

Loaded editor Martin Daubney said: "It's been a vintage year for comedy and the nominations in this year's Laftas are a testament to that.

"The Laftas are voted for by the Great British public which makes them the only comedy awards worth their salt. What we have here are the funniest fellas and fillies in the land - and a few surprises, too."
