A CYCLIST has died a week after suffering chronic head injuries in a tragic crash.
Kenneth Lofthouse, of Fairfax Drive, Westcliff, passed away yesterday.
The 55 year-old was cycling along Westbourne Grove, Westcliff, when his pedal bike collided with a blue Ford Mondeo.
He was originally taken to Southend Hospital, but was transferred to Romford's Queen's Hospital for specialist treatment on his chronic head injuries.
A 25 year-old man, from Leigh, arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving in connection with the crash, is currently on police bail.
Rayleigh Traffic Police would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision, which happened at around 9.25am on Saturday, October 27.
