A CHURCH has celebrated the completion of a two-year £250,000 refurbishment project.
Christ Church United Reformed Church, in Rayleigh, has reopened and marked the occasion with a family fun day.
Hundreds of church members and visitors turned up to the church, in Crown Hill, to see the new facilities, as well as enjoy free refreshments.
Church elder Alan Morgan said: "The day went extremely well. We must have had 400 visitors through the doors. The place was buzzing."
As part of the upgrade, a side building has been combined with the main church building to form a welcoming area. There is a new front entrance, and the kitchen has been revamped.
