FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze in a bungalow in Hockley.
The roof is well alight and crews from Hadleigh, Rayleigh and Hawkwell are at the scene in Mount Crescent.
A 45-year-old man was taken to Southend Hospital suffering from burns to his hands and back following the fire.
Fire and rescue service spokesman Martyn Hodder said: "Firefighters did an excellent job and prevented the fire spreading to an adjoining bungalow."
