A £25,000 reward has been offered for the arrest of armed robbers who threatened two securicor guards at gunpoint.

The two guards were forced to hand over a six-figure sum as they tried to fill a cash machine, outside the Shell petrol garage on Prince Avenue, Westcliff.

The three masked robbers escaped in a distinctive orange Volkswagen Beetle, down Hobleythick Lane and dumped the car in Prittlewell Chase, opposite the hospital.

They continued their escape on foot, through an alleyway, towards Fairfax Drive.

One of the men is described as black with a Carribean accent, while the other two were white, with London accents.

Two of the men were armed with handguns.

G4S, the company who run Securicor, have offered the reward for any information which leads to the arrest and conviction of one or more of the robbers.

Anyone with any information about the robbery, which happened just after midnight, on October 26, can call Southend CID on 01702 431212, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
