A MOTORIST was lucky to escape with his life after an early morning horror smash.
The man was driving his black Citroen Saxo on the Southend-bound track of the A127 when the crash happened.
It is thought he hit the kerb, losing control of the car which then flipped on to its roof.
Firefighters from Basildon rushed to the scene at 7.10am this morning and the man was taken to hospital.
