POLICE have dismantled a "multi-million pound criminal organisation" with the arrest of eight Vietnamese men in a drugs raid.

The arrests were made early this morning, when officers raided a warehouse on an industrial estate in Purfleet.

It followed a lengthy and complex operation carried out by police, who discovered cannabis growing in homes and warehouses across Essex.

The operation included a raid on October 25 when 1,500 cannabis plants were found in a warehouse in Sutton Road, Southend.

The eight men, from Essex and East London, are currently in police custody, on suspicion of growing cannabis.
