Members of the Grays' 7th Scout Group turned out for an open afternoon marking 100 years of Scouting.

The event at Grays United Reform Church, Bradleigh Avenue, was attended by old Scouts, some of whom were members when the Grays group was formed in 1935.

The event included a display of memorabilia dating back to the founding of the group, together with displays of the activities the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are currently involved in.

Group Scout Leader Tim Webb, said: "It was great to see so many old members join us for the afternoon.

"We were really pleased to see three members, Quin Clayton, Derek Hurrell and Leonard Taylor who were original founding members of the group."
