TWO Vietnamese men arrested as part of a multi-million pound drugs ring were living in Southend.
Around 30 officers from Essex Police smashed the cannabis ring with co-ordinated swoops early on Tuesday morning, at industrial and residential addresses across south Essex.
It comes after months of intelligence gathering work by specialist officers from the Essex Serious and Organised Crime Squad.
Seven men and a woman, all from Vietnam, were arrested as a result of the operation.
One of the men was a 45-year-old, from Southbourne Grove, Westcliff.
While a 38-year-old man from Rutland Avenue, in Southend, was arrested after police caught him at his home address.
All eight people remain in police custody as investigations take place.
Immigration services will also be reviewing their cases.
