What will you do with an extra hour this Sunday?

It may seem like a long time ago since late night sunsets but this weekend marks the official end of British summer time (BST).

The clocks go back at 2am this Sunday, October 25.

Thanks to daylight savings, we all gain an extra hour this weekend as clocks 'fall back'.

Clocks should automatically change on smartphones and computers, but analog or older devices may need to be changed manually.

Daylight savings brings darker, longer nights and shorter days - clocks will go forward and we will lose an hour on Sunday, March 28 2021.

Here are some of the things you could do with that extra hour in Southend this weekend:

Harry Potter Quiz

Bottomless brunch, Garrards

Sea Life

Echo:

With your extra hour this weekend why not explore the deep and let your inner Attenborough shine?

Sea Life has a wide range of animals including penguins, sharks, turtles and otters - to name a few.

The attraction can be found on the Eastern Esplanade and booking before your visit is recommended.

Walk around Hadleigh Castle

Is there a better way to welcome in the autumn than with a great big walk and the promise of a pint at the end?

The historic Hadleigh Castle ruins overlook the Essex marshes and was begun in about 1215 by Hubert de Burgh.

Later the castle was extensively refortified by Edward III during the Hundred Years War, becoming a favourite residence of the ageing king.

Walking from Leigh to Hadleigh Castle takes approximately 45 minutes, at just more than two miles each way the walk is a great way to inject some exercise into your weekend.

There are lots of pubs on the way and Google is filled with pub-route recommendations.
