The 21-year-old, who was a member of South Essex Gymnastics Club in Basildon until her retirement from the sport last year, has been drafted in to replace Basildon celebrity Denise van Outen in the ITV competition.
Denise’s shoulder injury has resulted in her being unable to continue and Amy will partner Joe Johnson on the ice.
The change means one Basildon star has been replaced by another, with Amy shooting to fame in the gymnastics arena.
