An 18-year-old has admitted his part in an incident which saw a man chased with a knife, just days after the murder of Luke Bellfield.
Police were called to Chalkwell Park on 5.20pm on Sunday February 28 after they received a number of reports of a man being threatened with a machete.
The victim of the incident did not sustain any injuries.
Joe Corstorphine, 18, of Marine Avenue, Westcliff, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court yesterday where he admitted to threatening a person with a knife in a public place and possessing cannabis.
He will be sentenced on both counts at Basildon Crown Court on March 30.
A man and a boy have also been charged in connection with the incident and are awaiting further court proceedings.
Harley Hamilton, 18, of no fixed address, has been charged with threatening a person with a knife, possessing a Class A drug and possession of a knife.
He will appear at Basildon Crown Court for a plea hearing on March 30.
A 17-year-old boy from Westcliff has been charged with threatening a person with a blade, possession of a blade in public, being concerned in the supply of heroin.
He has been released on conditional bail and will appear at Southend Youth Court for a plea hearing on March 16.
The incident happened two days after the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Luke Bellfield in Old Leigh.
