A PENSIONER was “thrown like a ragdoll” across a chemist after she was accused of jumping the queue - leaving her with a fractured elbow.

Cathy Williams, 72, was attacked in Boots on Ballards Walk, Basildon, and thrown into the store window in-front of shocked onlookers.

She has been left with a fractured elbow and a bruised hip following the horrific attack.

Cathy had been accused of jumping the queue in the chemist on Saturday afternoon.

Her daughter, Carla Belcher, feared her mum would lose her life when she was called to say she was being rushed to hospital.

Echo:

The 47-year-old, from Noak Bridge, said: “There was blood everywhere. She’s got a massive cut on her elbow.

“Mum asked everyone outside if they had been given a ticket. Everyone, including the lady said yes, so mum went inside.

“The lady followed her and verbally abused her. Mum told her she didn’t want any trouble.

“She then grabbed her from behind and just threw her straight into the chairs. She hit the window.

“She then just got her prescription then left.

“Mum was thrown like a ragdoll, just chucked out of the way.”

Cathy is now fearful of going outside, and is struggling to walk following the attack.

She spent seven hours in Basildon Hospital on Saturday.

Carla added: “I just don’t know why you would do something like this.

“I thought she was going to die, it was terrifying.

“She was in such a bad state, I couldn’t believe it.

“When mum called me from the chemist, I was so angry and irate.”

Cathy was picking up Carla’s prescription from the Boots, but will no longer be attending the chemist.
