An illustrator is overjoyed after teaming up with Disney and bringing two iconic characters to life in new stories.

Liam Brazier’s illustrations of Aurora, from Sleeping Beauty, and Moana have been used in the Tales of Courage and Kindness, a digital storybook collection with 14 original Disney princess stories.

The stories aim to inspire children to help create a kinder world.

The 40-year-old, who attended Shoebury High School and Southend College as he developed his artistic talent, created a series of unique pictures in the collection.

The digital storybook has gained the backing of celebrities including Katie Piper and Essex’s Anne-Marie.

Liam, who lives in Leigh, admits it is a dream come true to have contributed to Disney’s latest creation.

He said: “When I was quite young, someone must have told me I had an ability to draw.

“I’m extremely lucky that people like what I do and it is an honour to work with Disney.

“It’s always a pleasure to get a call about doing some illustration work, but it’s even better when you’re a massive Disney fan like I am.

“I was lucky enough to work on a Moana story within the book and also draw Aurora, from Sleeping Beauty.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for me and, having worked with Disney a couple of times in the past, I couldn’t pass the chance up.”

The stories within Tales of Courage and Kindness aim to inspire children through the adventures and values of beloved Disney characters.

Liam particularly enjoyed working on Moana.

He added: “When you get asked to do something like this, you get access to Disney’s old archives.

“It’s incredible and my Rayleigh-based niece, Jasmine, was pleased I drew Moana because she thinks she is Moana.

“If my drawings can inspire the next generation to be kinder, show courage and kindness, I’d be over the moon.”
