Georgia Leigh Hopper (Née Pocock)

Echo:

Georgia Leigh Hopper (née Pocock) The family and friends of Georgia will hold a small celebration of life service at Pitsea Cemetery on Friday 7th May 2021. Aged 60, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday 20th April. A devoted Wife and Mother, Georgia leaves behind her beloved Husband, Phil, and three Children, Jordan, Liam and Britany. Born in Rochford and raised in Basildon, Georgia attended Kingswood School and Woodlands School. As a youth Georgia developed a strong sense of duty to the Queen and country and, at aged 17, she joined the Royal Navy as an aircraft mechanic. She was first stationed at bases in Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. Later, she became one of the first Wrens to go to sea and travelled the globe on the HMS Invincible. On board she met her husband and they settled in Weymouth. After leaving the Navy, the Hoppers moved to Basildon, where they raised their children. Georgia became a well-respected member of the community, working as a Governor of Kingswood School for several years, and as a cover supervisor at Woodlands School for more than 10 years. Georgia was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones and creating her beautiful garden. She will be remembered for her warmth, love of life, storytelling and good humour. Georgia was loved beyond measure by so many and will be sorely missed. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the RNLI. https://www.justgiving.com/remember/862212/Georgia-Hopper
