SOUTHEND'S seafront has been cordoned off this morning due to a major incident.
Large parts of the seafront, including Western Esplanade, have been closed by the emergency services.
Reports have been made that a body has washed up on the beach.

A spokesman from Essex Police, said: "We were called to concerns around 9.15am this morning after the body of a woman was found in the water along Western Esplanade, Southend.
"Emergency services attended and, sadly, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Her death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious."
