RESIDENTS can now take a tour around Basildon's brand new Empire cinema - set to boast the largest screen in Essex.

With the build swiftly underway, the team at Basildon Council have revealed an exclusive behind-the-scenes look around the venue while works on the site continue.

Part of the East Square regeneration scheme put forward by the council, the building itself will contain 10 different screens, one of which is expected to be the largest in Essex.

It is also set to be Empire’s largest outside London, while there will be capacity for up to 500 people inside the cinema.
