A DOCKER has won £92,168 on the National Lottery.

Robert Marriott, 52, and his wife Pam, 53, from Basildon, are already planning a dream holiday in Egypt next year, a fishing weekend in France and home improvements.

Robert, who unloads cargo from ships at Tilbury docks, and Pam had already booked a holiday to Corfu, in June, and the final payment was fast approaching.

Robert initially thought they had matched five numbers and was delighted he could pay the holiday off. But then he realised they had the bonus ball too.

He said: "We checked the numbers on Teletext on Sunday morning. Pam noticed we had four, then five numbers. We saw from the screen that we had won £1,046, enough to pay off the holiday, but then we noticed we had matched the bonus ball as well and our winnings rocketed to £92,168.

"We couldn't believe it. Pam called our son straightaway but he couldn't believe it either. It didn't feel real."

The ticket for Saturday night's draw was bought from the Local, in Ballards Walk, Basildon.

The couple plan to save the rest of the money for their retirement.

Robert said: "We are over the moon with this win.

"Pam hid the ticket in her handbag and then hid the handbag in the house. We were determined not to lose the ticket."
