POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at a social club.
Thieves escaped with nearly £10,000 after attacking a 33-year-old member of staff at the back entrance of Winston Social Club, in Northumberland Avenue, Laindon, on Monday morning.
Essex Police spokesman Roger Grimwade said: "The victim was knocked into a daze, giving the assailant time to steal money from the bar till.
"The man who escaped with a four-figure sum was white, in his twenties and wearing a blue top."
