A NEW nightclub will open in Grays town centre.
The disused basement club, in the Queensgate Centre, has been sold to Christie and Co.
London operator Owen Mcleod hopes to capitalise on the lack of competition in the town and on the location’s links to London.
The previous club closed down more than a year ago.
It has been known as Rumours, Aqua, Club Rise and most recently the Q Bar and Lounge.
Mr Mcleod, 39, plans to make it an over-22s themed nightclub. He said: “I want to make it accessible to all the different cultures living in the surrounding area. I plan to introduce African, Asian, Eastern European and Caribbean themed nights.”
The club is set to be reopen on Saturday, February 28.
