EASTENDERS star Kara Tointon made her dad blush with pride when she turned up as a guest at his Wickford club’s dinner.
Members of the Wickford 41 club, and its sister club, Tangent, were delighted when Kara, 25, who plays Dawn Swann in the popular television soap, joined them for their joint meeting.
The star went along with her dad, Ken, who is a member of the Wickford 41 club, and entertained members by answering questions, signing autographs and posing for photos. The Tointon family, who used to live in Bowers Gifford before moving to Westcliff when Kara was 13, now live in North London.
Proud dad, Ken, 60, said it was good to spend some father-daughter time with Kara at the dinner, which was at the Chichester Hotel, on Old London Road, near Wickford.
He said: “I was proud to have her there and she enjoyed it too. There were a few people there who remembered her as a little girl.”
Club member Dave Chase, 60, said: “It was a real treat to have her there.”
