FIREFIGHTERS rescued a moggie which got stuck behind a drainpipe.
The ginger cat had got itself into a pickle at a house in Tintern Avenue, Westcliff.
A crew of firefighters from Leigh pitched a ladder at the front of the house and the cat was pulled free.
Firefighter Ian Randall said they had been called by the woman who owned the cat at 3pm on Saturday.
He said: "She was over the moon. She didn't know how long it had been there, she just walked out of the house to do something and saw it."
