A CAT adoption day proved a resounding success for a Southend charity with all the animals on show finding new homes.
The event, on Saturday at St Michael and All Angels Church, in Leigh Road, Leigh, was run by the Cats Protection branch. All 17 cats were found new homes, with 14 already settling in with their new owners and three set to do so this week.
Rita Roberts, homing officer for the charity, said: “The event has been a real success. We normally rehome about a dozen cats at each session we do, so to find new homes for all of them has been wonderful.
“There were some very deserving cases so we are very happy to have found them loving new homes. We would like to thank everyone who came along, especially those who adopted a cat.”
The next homing session will be held on Saturday, March 14, at Holy Trinity Church hall, on Southchurch Boulevard. Anyone interested in adopting a cat can call 01702 467001.
